Leyden Students finish strongly in State Science Olympiad
Leyden's Principia Club finished 5th in the state tournament. The following state medals were awarded; 1st place Cell Biology Harshal Dave and Manish Patel; 1st place Boomilever Liz Olszewski; 1st place Dynamic Planet (earth science) Amanda Giese and Liz Olszewski ; 2nd place Reach for the Stars (astronomy) Neil Tiwari and Bob Maslo; 3rd place Chemistry Lab Sam Dacanay and Manish Patel; 3rd place Sounds of Music (instrument design and physics of sound) Amanda Giese and Liz Olszewski; 3rd place Robot Ramble Dave Rodziewicz and Rob Beuse 3rd place Compute This Abbas Manjee and Neil Tiwari. Additional points for the team were earned by Sandra Wischmeyer, Sarav Patel and Steve Pflaum.

GUC Conference Held at West Leyden
A Genetics Update Conference in March at West Leyden. The speaker at this conference,Sam Rhine, is an adjunct faculty member at Indiana University and has taught classes at many universities across the United States and around the world. This was be a great opportunity for Leyden students to learn the most up to date information in genetics.
